Python on your resume
How to put Python on your resume so it actually says something — with example bullets and the roles that search for it.
PDF in, PDF out · Your wording is kept exactly.
Python is the most context-dependent keyword you can list. To a recruiter, "Python" could mean web development, data analysis, automation, or machine learning — four different jobs — and they cannot tell which you mean from the word alone. A resume that just says "Python" reads as unfocused; one that says "Python (Django) for web APIs" or "Python (pandas) for data analysis" instantly places you.
Why Python matters on a resume
Python is the most context-dependent keyword you can list. To a recruiter, "Python" could mean web development, data analysis, automation, or machine learning — four different jobs — and they cannot tell which you mean from the word alone. A resume that just says "Python" reads as unfocused; one that says "Python (Django) for web APIs" or "Python (pandas) for data analysis" instantly places you.
So always give Python a domain and prove it. Name the framework or libraries (Django, Flask, FastAPI, pandas), describe a real project, and attach a number — requests served, hours of manual work automated, dataset size. Listing Python next to TensorFlow, Selenium, and Django with no projects behind any of them does the opposite of impressing: it invites interview questions you cannot answer.

Python — FAQ
How do I put Python on my resume?+
Give it a domain — web (Django/Flask), data (pandas), or automation — list it in skills with that context, and prove it with a quantified project. Specific Python beats generic "Python" every time.
Which Python skills are most in demand in India?+
Django, Flask and FastAPI for web/back-end; pandas and NumPy for data; plus general scripting/automation. SQL almost always belongs next to Python, whichever direction you lean.
